This is a Late Woodland style alate or winged platform pipe. I carved this modern pipe from high quality pipestone.. This steatite is a very dark black and the color is uniform throughout. This pipe has been polished to a mirror like finish and sealed with wax to protect it.
As are all my pipes, this too, is a functional pipe.
