WellMadePoints

Hi, I'm Bruce. It's been about 20 years now that I've been knapping. I use mostly copper billets and flakers, and hammerstones for spalling larger rocks. Since obsidian is easily obtainable in the western U.S. (I like to gather my own rock), I use several different forms of this volcanic glass, but find that many other materials are fun to work with too. I work with rough chunks as well as slabs. I make arrowheads, spearheads, eccentrics, and knives. Most knife handles are made from antler and they sometimes have decorative inlays or paw print carvings.
I like flintknapping because making stone tools connects me to the past while creating something that may endure for generations into the future.
