I have been building cases around 12 years. I have 8 years experience building custom cabinets and several years experience being a trim carpenter. I sell most of my cases at knap-ins and juried arts & crafts shows. I also have 3 art & craft shops that handle my cases in the Gatlinburg, Tennessee area.
I use brass finish heavy duty 90 degree stop hinges on size 9 x 12 and larger so the lid will stay open without holding or propping, have lockable brass finish snap catches, black felt and 3 layers of foam so you can take out a layer or 2 if you need extra room for thick items.
I make 5 x 7, 6 x 12, 9 x 12, 7 x 16, 6 x 21, 10 x 14, 12 x 18, 15 x 21, 12 x 27 and 18 x 24 cases that are usually in stock.
