Hello, my name is Kane Vinson I live in southeastern Indiana. I started carving stone about 6 years. I started by carving banded slate that I found while looking for artifacts in the fields. Now I carve a variety of stone including catlinite, soapstone, marble, slate, etc. Banded slate is still my favorite stone to carve. The colors and patterns in the stone are amazing.
