Carl Webb

My fascination with flintknapping began at age 7 when I saw my first arrowhead being made during a camping trip to Friendship,In. I returned home armed with some hornstone, a few handed down worn out tools, and D.C. Waldorf\'s book, determined to produce works of art..Without someone to teach me or an understanding of the technical aspects behind knapping, I didn\'t have much success. I never lost that fascination though. Years later I decided to give it another try and I\'ve been at it ever since.

I grew up in west central Ohio, joined the Navy, and have since moved to the San Diego area.

All of my work is done using both percussion and pressure flaking techniques except for the very rare occasions I pressure flake a slab..

Points designated as hunting points are usable and are of a barbless (non-corner notched) design and are a minimum of 7/8\" wide. This type of point should be legal in any state that doesn''t specify that points must be metal. **BUT PLEASE CHECK YOUR STATE\'S HUNTING REGULATIONS BEFORE BUYING** These do not start out as extremely thin flakes, they are knapped from either small spalls, slabs, or very thick thinning flakes.

When it comes to arrow points, bigger is not neccesarily better. The increased surface area of larger points often negatively impacts penetration. That's not to say that big points absolutely won't work, but they don't work as efficiently.

I accept personal checks, money orders, and paypal.
