I made this large percussion flaked Clovis in the style of the famous Wenatchee Clovis for the 2023 Flint knapping Calendar but there wasn't room for it in the photo shoot. Its made out of a piece of what I think is George Town flint as I didn't have any Columbia River agate in that size range. I made this in the slightly wavy 'kris' style of the originals with large overshot percussion flakes. The flute flakes are included with this. Tricky to make obviously. I fluted it with direct percussion rather than using a jig. Not a point type I make too commonly. |
