This Pinto Basin great basin style point is made from a very unusual obsidian that extremely few people know of. Its a sort of Burns green color with black semi clear spots all over in it. A relative found this years ago and named it "Alligator obsidian'. I like to call it " Reptilian obsidian'. The pics don't show it as well as I'd like so I photographed it at an angle I normally don't photo points in but shows the color of this obsidian better. I recently made a trip to the 'outback' and acquired more of it so this is the first of a batch of points made from it. |
