The handle is Kingwood, the same wood Louis IV had his furniture made from.
It hasn't been harvested since 2017, as is now protected. A small section of this board was selected for this handle........the board length was 5' long and cost $585......very rare.
The blade is Deschutes jasper, knapped by Cliff Carney, also rare (jasper, not Cliff, well maybe both) .....the source was descovered in 1960 and is now played out......and the site is presently a State Park, so never to be worked again. |
