This magnificent blade was entombed in “Big Yeller”, a large rock I purchased in Tucson directly from Mr. Mook, Glen Archer. There are several members of the Big Yeller tribe, one of which was it’s twin sister and is known to have been released from it's Mother somewhere in Nevada. Dr. Carney performed the C-section on her as well as her brother, "The Heart Line." “A chip off the ol block” rings true in this case.
The beading on this white tail shed handle has beautiful candle like drippings. There are a couple fine hair line cracks (can be seen on the close up handle photo, between sinew and brow tine) as a result of soaking for several days in different plant solutions to achieve the desired color……they are not deep cracks of a weathered shed. The blade and antler complement each other, so I don't see the fine lines as distracting.
I shall be pleased to offer a different handle, either antler or carved if that's desirable...no cost for a different antler....a wood handle would cost more.
This is an exceptional knife in color, design configuration, size and magnificence!
