I haven’t made one of these in a while. This is a type of tribute point that was found in the famous Oklahoma Spiro mounds, but they weren’t very common. Sometimes these are called sequoia points but those are somewhat different. In my opinion, these are first cousins to Neff points from the southwest. This one is made out of a piece of agate with two red bands in it that are actually healed cracks. Normally these points are skinnier but I had to tiptoe to make sure the cracked red seams didn’t break. |
