This is one of the hardest pipes I've ever made. Not so much the shape, but the stone had some really hard spots that fought me all the way. It's also one of my favorites. Go figure. The pics don't show it, but the lighter areas on the disk part are translucent and if held up to a light or the sun, it's almost glows. The stem is split Oak and I carved the four lines for a little decoration. The tip of the prow is notched like a lot of the old ones were.
Without the stem, the pipe measures 4 3/4" long and the disk is 2 3/4" across. |
