Every now and then its fun to strike a big flake off a chunk of obsidian and finish up a point with percussion and pressure flaking the old way. The nice Crump Lake style side notch was made that way out of a beautiful jet black Oregon obsidian. Expanding notches and serrations like many of the old points out of SE Oregon were once made. |
