This nice little serrated Cahokia point is made from a piece of honey colored Burlington chert which the late T.J. Onken gave me to work with. Many if not most of the Cahokia mound points were made from this material. It lacks the kaleidoscope of wild colors that a lot of knappers use and is more in the size range of the original Cahokia points Thin, deep notched and serrated. This is one of the mound 72 variant style points. |
