This replica Cheyenne arrow is a close copy of one in a set that is in a private collection. This one is made from a shoot of wild rose which the Cheyenne were noted for using for arrow shafts. It is grooved with three shaft grooves one wavy and the other straight which when fire hardened helps prevent warping. The point is made out of an old barrel hoop and lashed with sinew. It has a slight chisel tip on it, a trait which a lot of plains iron arrow tips have rather than coming to a sharp point. Red ochre and green trade paints are used for the crest and peacock wing feathers are used for the fletchings which resemble the dark raptor feathers on the original arrow. The feathers are glued to the shaft with hide glue. Been working on my own archery equipment for hunting season so I've been lax in making too many for other sales but here's one.
