This Apache arrow replica is a close copy of an original. The side notched white chert point is set into the wild rose fore shaft made of with pitch gum and sinew lashings. The foreshaft is painted black like the old ones were probably to decrease visibility. The main shaft is made of phragmities marsh cane. Wild turkey wing and tail feathers are used for fletchings and are lashed with sinew, trimmed in typical Apache style. The arrow crest colors are yelow and red ochres along with some greenish earth pigments. These arrow were shot off of powerful sinew backed bows and were deadly in the hands of a hunter/warrior. |
