This little highly serrated Kalapuya style point is made out of a piece of rich dark red Mookite jasper. It started out as a much longer point until I hit a weak seam in the rock and then I had to make something out of the larger half, right? So this was the result. The Kalapuya of the Oregon's Willamette valley made little highly serrated points that resemble small Gunther barb points with shorter barbs but sometimes they did make points that fit into an assemblage of Gunther barbed points. I've actually seen real points this serrated. Tricky to make....obviously |
