Here is a nice Pickwick style point. I copied this point from the Overstreet guide, as the Pickwick point is not readily found as far North as I live. I used indirect percussion to do all of the percussion flaking on this point, as I could not get the flake pattern to look correct with direct percussion flaking. I cleaned up the blade edges with some very detailed secondary pressure flaking just like what is found on authentic Pickwick artifacts. Other than for a lack of patina, this point looks as if it was just removed from an ancient Pickwick site. |
