Philip Churchill was an amazing knapper and friend. I bought this dagger from him around 2010. It’s made of a man made fused quartz, a section of a lens I believe he said that he purchased, the slabs were quite expensive. I paid $400 for the dagger then and am selling it because I’ve had it stored away and it needs to be displayed and enjoyed. The work is excellent on this material that’s very challenging to pressure because if it’s transparency. The pommel is stitched on both faces with excellent control. He made the piece by percussion knapping the slab and then hand grinding it before the finish pressure and stitching.
