Haven’t posted much in a while other than some arrows a while back so here’s some great basin style stuff. This big Haskett point is all percussion flaked with a minimum of pressure retouch. As near as I can tell it’s how all the old ones were mostly made. The material is jet black obsidian from Oregon. These are Paleo points and we’re basal ground. These are thought now to even date further back in time than Clovis points. This one’s a fairly big one but some of them were. |
