I took a nice flake of black and mahogany obsidian and made this point the old way from scratch with no lapidary help, all percussion and fine pressure flaking to finish. Its fun to do it that way now and then like the old ones did. I recently saw a point that came from Crump Lake back in the late 1960's when it had gone dry and it was even more eccentric than this one is which is copied after it. Deep expanding notches, needle tip and fine serrations like the original I once saw had. They really did make and use points like this one. |
