Where to start? The handle is shaped from a moose tine to fit perfectly in your hand, the hinge was hand carved and tediously sanded from a piece of moose skull top plate which by the way is super dense and hard, they are held together with a solid copper pin, it has the perfect fit it holds securely when unfolded and closed but is also loose enough to be opened with one hand. The blade is a awesome piece of Australian Mookaite that's been cooked to perfection to get that nice waxy look, it's loaded with color and probably one of my top blades I've ever knapped. I've hafted the blade into the hinge with clear epoxy, the blade tang I guess you could call it goes over halfway down into the hinge so it is a extremely sturdy ,tough piece, I've put a lot of time and love into this piece and hope you enjoy it as much as I did crafting it, I have many other pics for serious inquiries and as always open to reasonable offers, thanks |
