i got to see a number of Ishi's original points some years ago when researching his archery equipment down at the Hearst Museum at U.C. Berkeley where it is housed. He liked pretty pieces of glass and no doubt would have liked this stuff. I got this winter green mint colored slag glass while at a friends mini knap-in last week and finally had time to try it. I saw one of Ishi's larger points shaped much like this one made form amber glass. I like to think he would have loved to work on some of this stuff. The pics don't do it justice, its a beautiful 'winter green mint' color. |
