This is the last I have of the medium chunks.....they are of fossilized Alaskan ivory tusk which I can no longer keep. Coming July 1st California law shall make any and all ivory illegal to sell....so now's the time. The age is somewhere between 10,000 and 50,000 years old. I've checked retail value which is between $95 and $120 per pound.....this piece is just over a pound.
It's great for inlay, fish hooks, points, small effigy's, pendants, cabochons and whatever other type of Native adornment one can imagine. I've made many cabs for jewelry and inlay and had no problems with it. It's been exposed to air and curing for close to ten years, so it shouldn't crack any more. It's a nice range of cream to dark brown.
