Every now and then I like to take a nice piece of rock and percussion and pressure flake out a point the old way of doing it with no slabs, lapidary equipment and the like. Sort of gratifying somehow. This nice Crump Lake style northern side notch in what is called the 'fox ear' style and is made from a nicely colored piece of mahogany obsidian. Expanding notches and serrated edges. They really did make them this nice and hunted big game with these. |
