The blade of this mini-knife is a small Agate Basin point that I made of raw Knife River Flint. The handle is a partially fossilized bison tooth. I found both the tooth, and the piece of Knife River Flint, just a few feet away from each other on a lakeshore while hunting arrowheads. The location is an ancient campsite, and has given up many pieces of petrified bison bones and teeth, as well as many a piece of Knife River Flint.
The Agate Basin point was often made of KRF in ancient Paleo times, and was used to hunt the bison that roamed the land then. The idea for this knife came to me immediately upon finding its parts. What a perfect combination....
