The handle is Picasso Marble from AZ, featuring the classic figures that the material is known for. The AZ variety tends to be darker than the main UT source, and this is no exception. The blade is a subdued Rainbow Obsidian that shows horizontal bands of blues, green and olive. It doesn't take a lot of light to bring the colors out, but they don't get flashy even in bright sun. This is a BIG knife, 14" total length, and the blade is a bit thicker than my norm, about 3/8" and about a 1/5 thickness to width ratio. Steel knife collectors are sometimes put-off by the lightweight of a knapped knife. They won't be by this hefty piece. |
