Type 4 danish dagger in its classic form. Made from keokuk chert. This dagger was knapped with the same tools as we believe the originals were made. Hammer stone and antler percussion, antler punchwork to create thickness in the handle before the use of a copper punch to created the primary punch stitching them finished with copper pressure. All the edge prep was done with hammer stones. I did my best to copy the order of resection that we believe was used based on the couple of unfinished daggers that have been found. I’d consider this to be the best of the keokuk daggers I have listed |
