This serrated Cahokia point is make out of a piece of what I am sure is Keokuk chert I found squirreled away in my material and given to me a number of years ago by T.J. Onkin. (RIP Tom). Its what a lot of the original Cahokia points were made of I was told. While a pretty translucent reddish orange, this material was replete with little crystal pockets and other small annoying surprises. Despite all that I managed to coax this nice point out of it. |
