This SE Oregon style serrated split stem Elko point is made out of a new found material & claim out of Nevada called Hole In Wall Agate. Its a mostly clear agate with a distinct yellow tinge to it, quite pretty and unique stuff. The source is in remote and rough country and while I'm told its not the end of the world that you can see it from there. Interestingly this material has been found hundreds of miles from the source and even a Clovis point was found made out of it so the old folks knew of it and it got around. This is one of the largest pieces I had. It can be wonderful to flake and thenb sort of cranky at times like it has a mind of its own. But this one turned out fine. |
