A beautiful Gerzean blade, knapped by the pioneer of the stone-on-stone knives, Dale Cannon. The Gerzean blade was an ancient Egyptian blade type that was flaked on only one side. The material is Oregon Indian Paint. The colors are cream and light tan, with a spot of light orange. Dale worked with the Smithsonian to help design the flint knapping exhibit. I’m sure Dale would have put this blade in one of his beautiful, engraved marble handles, if he’d had enough time before the knap-in. We purchased some of his knives and the blade from him at the Water Creek Knap-in, May 2000. Inv # 0005-207R
