Here's a showstopper for fans of both fine knapping and exceptional material — a beautifully executed Wintu-style point knapped from Flintridge flint, measuring a clean 3 1/16 inches.
The material alone makes this piece worth a long look. The stone flows in that signature Flintridge palette — cool aqua-green misting into soft blue-white, laced with warm iron-oxide streaking in rust and amber that cuts diagonally across both faces. The knapper chose the raw material wisely, letting those color seams run through the piece like a brushstroke.
The knapping is confident and clean throughout. Both faces show well-controlled, collateral-tending flake scars with good coverage across the blade. The Wintu form is faithfully rendered — broad triangular blade tapering to a sharp tip, with the characteristic notched ears at the base flanking a squared stem. Edge geometry is crisp and symmetrical.
