A clean, well-executed Dalton in what appears to be a white to cream-colored chert or novaculite. This piece hits all the classic Dalton hallmarks — lanceolate blade with gently recurved edges, shallow concave base with characteristic "fishtail" ears, and nice serration along both edges. The flaking is orderly and controlled, with good thinning across the face.
At a full 4 inches, it's a substantial piece with strong visual presence. The material has a bright, almost chalky patina that photographs beautifully and displays well.
Unknown knapper, but the workmanship speaks for itself. A solid addition to any collection or a great display piece. |
