I had a number of extra Columbia River points that I made for the Knapping calendar that didn't end up in the photo shoot so here's one of them. This little unusual point is a type found on the Lower Columbia River, particularly on Sauvies Island near Portland OR. They have various names but are usually called a' Sauvies Island Hafting Notch'. Kind of a long name but there you go, they're just a combo or a late period small side notch point with a stem on it as well. Made of reddish Oregon sunset jasper.
