I had a number of extra Columbia River points that I made for the Knapping calendar that didn't end up in the photo shoot so here's one of them. This is a Columbia River "Mule Ear" knife as they are popularly called. When new the blade looks like this and later when it gets resharpened down to a stub they are discarded. This one is "new out of the box" so to speak. Its made out of banded china hollow jasper from near Biggs Junction OR with some interesting banding in it. Its percussion flaked from a large heat treated spall and finished with pressure.
