A nice looking Clovis out of North Dakota Rainy Buttes, by well-known flint knapper, Jeff Gower. Jeff is one of the best commercial flint knappers in the U.S., meaning he made a living at flint knapping, and maybe still does. Rainy Buttes is a wood that silicified into chert. It’s a nice replica and was knapped over 20 years ago. The color is dark brown, and has a healed fracture. We purchased the Clovis from Jeff in Aug, 1998 at the Texas Maxdale Knap-in.
