Nice Clovis in 4-color Jasper. Flutes go 1/3 up the point. probably would have made it to half ways but the cool looking quartz vein definitely slowed their travel. 1/3 is still appropriate for Clovis reproductions though. Im told that "4-color" is the official name of this jasper, because it comes out of the formation in 4 primary colors. Regardless, it is a very interesting material, especially when wetted. It has what look like many lime green oolites throughout it, but i am unsure wether or not oolites are what they actually are.
direct percussioned out of the rough with solid copper round/rod, a series of indirect to regularize, and pressure to finish. Fluted with indirect.
