This is a showstopper — and the material alone makes it rare.
The blade is knapped from Indian Blanket jasper, a visually dramatic stone prized for its bold patterning of deep reds, warm tans, cream, and earthy browns that mimic the woven geometry of a Southwest blanket. This material has been effectively unavailable for years, making any piece made from it a genuine collector's find. The blade displays the full character of the stone — rich color variation and natural surface texture, .
The handle is hand-carved antler, fitted to the blade with sinew-wrapped rawhide binding in the traditional manner. The carving is the real conversation piece: an octopus rendered in fine relief, tentacles curling across the pommel alongside carved skulls — a dark, imaginative pairing that gives this knife an unmistakable presence. The antler has a naturally smooth, aged patina that complements the raw energy of the blade perfectly.
At 11" overall with a 6" blade, this is a substantial, well-proportioned piece with real presence in hand or on display.
This is wearable art and a serious collector piece in one. Display it, carry it, or simply own it — but don't expect to find Indian Blanket material like this again.
