This museum quality piece invokes the image of the lone warrior racing on horseback to catch the great buffalo. Raising his lance high in the air for that single fatal thrust that brought the beast down.
A nicely flint-knapped Burlington Chert lance point penetrating through a large buffalo vertebrae section to the spinal cord. The vertebra stands 10 inches tall and is professionally mounted on a stand. The stand has a brass plate engraved with "Buffalo Hunt" and the bottom has foam padding. The lance point is over 4” of thin Burlington chert flint knapped and hafted to the shaft with natural elk sinew. The lance point fits perfect inside the groove and is removable. A real visual piece with the 3 dimensional realism makes this statue stand out in any room. It is discretely initialed and dated by the artist.
