This is the only peice of this rock I have ever dug and it came from Sommerset Ohio where I dig my Black rock and it was identified to me as Brush Creek chert. I read on it today and found out that there are a few colors of this chert including Greys,Oranges,Tans,Blue/Black. It only makes sense because I dig all those colors in the creek down in Sommerset. This peice has the Orange/Tan color with a few small quartz inclusions running through the point. This is still one of my favorites peices and I hope to get back into some more this Spring.nicely serrated and the base is ground. |
