Thought I'd do some great basin stuff for a bit. This is a replica of a type of big blade that is sometimes found in SE Oregon's Warner Valley around Crump Lake and are huge side or corner notched points. They were probably hafted knives and were percussion flaked then pressure flaked around the edges and then deeply notched at the base often with slightly expanding notches. This big boy is made out of Oregon obsidian with edges I left really sharp. You could skin an elk with this thing.....which is probably what the old guys used them for.
