This amber glass came from an old construction site dump that was in operation back in about 1909 about the same time Ishi’s hidden camp was discovered in the wilds of Deer Creek NE of Chico CA. I thought it would be kind of nifty to make an Ishi point out of glass that actually dates back to his time. Don’t worry, nobody violated any antiquities laws picking this particular piece of old glass up. Chipped out in a typical Wintu style point that Ishi liked to make when he did Sunday afternoon demonstrations at the museum in San Francisco. |
