This knife is pretty special to me. In the 27 plus years I've been knapping and making knives I've made 10's of thousands of high quality knives. But, every now and again one comes out with that special indescribable something that shows in every aspect of the whole piece. I like to start with the blade because I feel its important for it to be sharp with uniform flaking (Parallel for me please) This beauty is f.o.g. knapped from my favorite obsidian midnight lace. Considering the flow and shape of the blade I had to come up with equally unique. I started with a poplar center and scaled it with beautiful california walnut, sweet amboyna burl with buffalo horn spacer shaped into the flow it has now--blending in concert with the blade. For the stand I again started with poplar, california walnut splitting it at center, amboyna on the ends, poplar towers with purple heart accents. 9 3/4 inch knife--10 3/4 inches stand.
