This full sized pipe tomahawk represents my best work. The handle is fully drilled curly maple finished with an old time honey brown stain with a linseed/pine distillate finish. The mouth piece is aged bone. Each brass tack has been aged and arranged in a period accurate design. The head has extensive file work on the edges and the pipe bowl. An interesting Iroquois line design was filed on the face of the bowl which makes this pipehawk a real eye pleaser. The axe head has been aged with a rich brownish black patina. All key areas around the brass tacks and axe head have an appropriate amount of dirt that should accumulate over 200 - 250 years. This is a replica wall hanger that is made to look old. Authentic pipe hawks in this condition command tens of thousands of dollars. |
