Dimensions: 18 inches long, head is 6 3/4 inches long
Here is the typical belt tomahawk that would have been traded to the Northeastern Iroquois nation. A beautiful replica with a honey brown hand rubbed finish on the hickory handle. The head had a flat "hammer" top that has been "beat-up" to simulate the use that would have occured as this handy tool would have been pressed into Indian utility service when not used for war. Each brass tack was aged with a false patina and the head has engravings that are period accurate. I have a similiar one in my own personal collection

This piece now resides in the Stan Vanderlan collection. Stan is an avocational archaeologist and Fellow of the the Rochester Museum in NY.
